No.
The debit cards are prepaid by the user, meaning every dollar that is spent needs to be in the account before the transaction processes. This is exactly the same way a checking account works, with the added benefit that Hydrogen's debit cards cannot be overdrafted, and there are no overdraft fees.
A secured credit card is different than a prepaid debit card, because it requires a security deposit (similar to renting an apartment) that is held by the bank sponsor of the credit card as collateral. The money held by collateral is not used for transactions. Thus, it acts like a traditional credit card, with lower risk for the bank, because they can draw down the collateral account if a payment is missed by the user.
Hydrogen does not offer secured credit cards. We plan to launch branded consumer credit cards (unsecured) in 2022, please sign up for our waitlist!
