Mobile deployment requires some extra steps that a member of the Hydrogen customer success team will assist you with. We have described the process for Android below:
The first step to deploying your app in the Google Play Store, is to sign up for a Google Play Developer account. Hydrogen will not be able to deploy your app from our own account due to Google guidelines. If you already have a Google Play Developer Account, awesome! If you do not already have an account, you can register for one if you have the following details ready:
- Your company headquarters and mailing address
- Your company legal, financial, marketing, and technical contact
- Credit card to pay the annual registration fee
After you set up your account, you can publish your app by visiting the Google Play Developer Console and click on the "Add New Application" button located in the top right. NOTE: Do not enable Google Play App Signing. You will not be able to upload your app if it is enabled. Google Play App Signing is not currently supported.
When you login to the dev portal you will see the "APK" app bundle for Android download link on the white label mobile apps page. Once you have this file, you can upload the APK file to the store by following the prompts on the Google Play Console. You will be asked for some other information before publishing the app, including screenshots, a short description, icons, etc.
