It is necessary to fund the reserve account for two reasons:
1. To cover any ACH reversals, including bank and ACH network fees, and any potential shortfalls that may result to cover purchases
2. To cover any fraud from your cardholders
We only require that clients put in $1,000 to start in their reserve account to cover the two items listed above. We will then monitor the program over the proceeding months to see if more money needs to be added.
Note: if you choose to offer your own rewards program, this amount of money must be in the reserve account (on top of the $1,000), before the rewards are run on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly time period.
